We’re looking for a talented Wire Harness Engineer with strong experience in vehicle or robotics wire harnessing and systems design to join our fast paced team. In this position you would guide our electrical engineering efforts for reliable and functionally safe power and digital systems.
Embracing rapid prototyping, data-driven decision making, and design — ingenuity is critical for success in this role.
The opportunity offers a technical, hands-on engineer the chance to help develop a market-defining enterprise product that combines autonomous vehicle technology with a software-as-a-service (SaaS) business model.
What You’ll Do
Own the electrical systems of our vehicle autonomy systems, including power, computing, and digital subsystems
Design and build electronic and harness assemblies and integrate them into the overall system
Collaborate cross-functionally with the software, mechanical, and technician teams to rapidly design and integrate harness and electronic systems that are manufacturable, serviceable, and reliable
Perform hands on electrical integration work with LV/HV harnesses, lithium and lead based batteries, power conversion systems and distribution
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience with harness design, harness integration, and electrical test (project teams, internships, and non-traditional personal experience all qualify – candidates with unconventional experiences especially encouraged)
Experience with SolidWorks Electrical preferred, other harness software considered
Experience with wire selection, termination and routing
Understanding of connector reliability, design, assembly procedures, and knowledge of common connector series by TE Connectivity, Amphenol, Molex, etc.
Experience with safely working with high-power sources such as large lead-acid or lithium batteries
Understanding of power distribution and fusing requirements
Working understanding of electrical test equipment and test methods (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)
Ideal Qualifications
Multiple years of experience in harness and electrical design and assembly with successful delivery to market at production scale (>100 units)
Thorough understanding of DFM and DFA principles for wiring harnesses
Prior experience developing and supporting all aspects of electric vehicle development
Experience as a technician prior to an engineering role in electric vehicle servicing and maintenance
