We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Foundation team. The Foundation team's mission is to deliver and support a reliable and secure infrastructure, platform and data warehouse. We partner with the rest of Alto's engineering team to establish the needs of our technical foundation and define a shared vision, and we help teams to enable ownership of development practices, architecture, and reliability. Additionally, we assist our product engineering teams with roadmap acceleration.

A Bit About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or similar applicable field
• 8+ years of progressive software development engineering experience
• 5+ years of experience building and supporting cloud infrastructure or technical platforms
• 3+ years of engineering management experience
• Demonstrated ability to engage a senior engineering team around a common goal
• Clear communication and ability to frame infrastructure and platform investments in terms of business value
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Product Engineering teams to accelerate their roadmaps.
• Successfully recruited senior engineers, on your own and with a recruiting team
• Backend or Full Stack technical background.
• The team works primarily in Rails, with some React, Go and React Native
• Successful track record of Product Engineering leadership in direct-to-consumer experiences
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with cross-functional peers to drive metrics-based results
• Demonstrated ability building and communicating a vision for a mission-oriented team
• Demonstrated ability coaching and mentoring senior engineers

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD inEngineering, Mathematics, or similar applicable field
• Healthcare company experience
• Derives satisfaction from mentorship and elevating team members

• Experience leading teams that drive technical vision and innovation for the larger engineering organization.
• Experience 2 or more facets of foundations engineering: Security, Data Engineering, Infrastructure , Backend Platform, Frontend Platform
• Experience managing high-growth, rapidly maturing code bases

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $131,000 - $175,000

Commission Eligible: No

Equity Eligible: Yes

Travel: Yes. Up to 15% of the time.
