Accelerate Your Career as You
- We’re looking for Backend and Fullstack Engineers who will make a positive impact for our customers by building innovative solutions, (atomic) services, and ergonomic monetizable APIs.
- Scope, design, build, test, and maintain large-scale systems that reliably and efficiently handle large volume transactions.
- Debug and solve critical production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Work with peers to help them grow, seek advice, and build influence to push innovative boundaries.
- Collaborate effectively with distributed team members, stakeholders across the company to build new features at large-scale, while improving internal engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Start to develop a point of view on the customer value and incremental delivery of features.
- Seek out areas of improvement continuously, leveraging technologies including AI/ML.
A Bit About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
- 1 to 2 years of academic experience paired with 1 to 2 years of internship or professional experience in computer science fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, software design patterns, and principles. Familiarity with basic cloud infrastructure (such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including but not limited to: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Golang, Rust, Ruby, C#, C/C++, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with developer productivity tools such as VS Code, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, Git, GitHub, or Slack.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers, management, and product owners.
- Willingness to learn and grow: Demonstrated eagerness to learn new technologies, solve problems, and apply design patterns to both application and cloud solutions, with a focus on clean coding techniques and testability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internships or previous project experience working with engineering teams in an Agile environment.
- Knowledge and/or practical experience working with frameworks including, but not limited to: Angular, React, .Net, Spring Boot, Rails.
- Knowledge, practical experience, and/or certifications working with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
- Experience and/or knowledge of the U.S. Healthcare system and the pharmaceutical supply chain.

- Reading English, comprehending, and following simple oral and written instructions.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
- Frequent repeating motions required to operate a computer or phone that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Environmental Conditions: occasional exposure to low temperatures or high temperatures, outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind, and noisy environments.
- Physical Activities:
- Occasionally ascending or descending stairs, ramps and the like.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks and/or moving from one worksite to another.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
- Operating motor vehicles.
- Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing/driving/flying
Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $104,000 - $130,000
Commission Eligible: No
Equity Eligible: Yes
Travel: Yes - Required up to 15% of the time for engineering on/off-sites.
Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: California, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Illinois, New York, Kansas, Texas, Maryland, Washington (WA), Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin.
