We are an applied AI lab building end-to-end software agents.
Software is how the modern world runs—but there's not enough of it, and too much of what exists isn't good enough. Banks and governments still run COBOL from the 1970s. Budgets go to technical debt and maintenance instead of the features customers actually want. The bottleneck has always been the same: engineering talent is scarce and expensive, and budgets only stretch so far.
AI agents make it possible to build more software, faster, at higher quality—and Cognition is at the center of that shift. We built Devin, the first AI software engineer, and we're working with some of the world's largest enterprises to fundamentally expand what their engineering organizations can deliver. We went from $1 to $X00M in revenue in a year, and are backed by some of the world’s top investors, including Founders Fund, General Catalyst, Lux Capital, and 8VC.
Your job is to tell that story.
You'll shape how Fortune 500 CTOs, CIOs, and engineering leaders understand this moment—why AI agents matter now, what's actually possible, and why they should partner with Cognition. You'll translate a fast-moving technical landscape into narratives that are clear, precise, and compelling.
You'll work across two areas:
Enterprise Narrative & Thought Leadership
Build the frameworks and language that help executives understand AI agents
Develop content for keynotes, executive briefings, and convenings with leaders at the world's largest organizations
Communicate Cognition's point of view on the market
Enterprise Product Marketing
Deeply understand enterprise buyers—segment by industry, persona, and use case
Build the core collateral to communicate value: decks, talk tracks, case studies, customer stories, launch narratives
Lead how we bring enterprise products to market
You should be:
An exceptional writer who can hold a busy executive's attention - ROI-focused, honest, and concise
Obsessed with deeply understanding the buyer: enterprise technical leaders selecting partners who can actually deliver ROI amid great organizational and technical complexity
A systems thinker who can distill technical and business complexity into actionable frameworks and operate at different levels of abstraction
Genuinely curious about technology and able to stay current in a landscape that moves weekly. Technical degree is a bonus, but not required.
Comfortable owning projects end-to-end, from strategy to execution
Ideal Profile
6+ years of experience total; 2-3+ years in a role that required translating technical complexity into business or real-world outcomes (e.g. marketing, bizops, product, deployment strategy, journalism, policy)
Experience marketing AI, developer tools, data infrastructure, or complex technical products to enterprise buyers is a plus
Experience working with executives - either as a chief of staff, in corporate strategy, or in a marketing role with exec-level stakeholders.
Eagerness to work hard
Based in SF or NYC
You’ll be one of the first marketing hires at Cognition, helping to build the function from scratch.
