SUMMARY

Curative is seeking a pharmacy technician to join our fast-growing team. This role will provide operational support for processing and filling prescriptions, as well as managing inventory in a non-retail facing environment. Reporting to the Pharmacist, this individual will provide excellent customer service and ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly. Must be detail oriented, reliable and possess excellent communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of Pharmacy

  • Perform designated tasks regarding pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and preparation of orders for drugs

  • Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations including machinery and work areas

  • Run automated machinery required to pre-sort and package medications

  • Answers incoming phone calls and respond to needs of caller

  • Pack and ship completed prescriptions including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser and shipping boxes

  • Work adhering to US regulatory and Quality System requirements (21 CFR 820, etc).

  • This position assumes and performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years minimum experience as a Pharmacy Technician

  • Experience with an online prescription system

  • Knowledge of medication and dosage measurements

  • Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology (SIG codes, brand, generic names of medications)

  • Outstanding organization skills and keen eye for detail

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Proficient with MS Office applications- Word, Power Point, Excel, and Access

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess an active Pharmacy Technician license in the applicable location or state- PTCB, CPhT.
