About the role:

• Pediatrics CVICU Cardiac required for this position.
• Type of staff:acuity adaptive model. Team cares for ICU and step down level patients for continuity
• Day Shift - 2 charges for each unit (ICU and step down), 1 PCT, RNs based on census and acuity needs
• Type of equipment – IV pumps – medfusion and Baxter, beds – Hillrom, HARD cribs and cribettes, GE radiant warmers, somanetics NIRS machines, Servo U vents
• EMR - Meditech

Experience:

• 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as staff nurse  
•  3-4 contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU
• 2 years minimum PICU experience as staff nurse
• Experience with caring for patients with congenital heart disease and post operative management of CHD patients
• Experience with management of arterial lines, central lines, transthoracic lines

Education

• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

License and Certifications

• Active State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS required 
• ACLS required
• PALS required

Shift

• Weekends and On call (if any)
• Rotating weekends (day shift Sat and Sun, night shift Fri and Sat)
• No call
• Day Shift- 7a-7p
