Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team, specializing in working with clients who are struggling with substance abuse. The primary focus of this role will be to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver medication-assisted treatment to individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and evidence-based care, fostering positive outcomes for clients on their journey to wellness.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations of clients with substance use disorders, including comprehensive mental health and medical histories.
- Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate medication-assisted treatment (MAT) interventions as appropriate.
- Administer and monitor medication regimens for MAT, adjusting dosages and treatment plans based on clients' progress and needs.
- Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding substance use disorders, MAT, potential side effects, and adherence to treatment plans.
- Offer counseling and therapeutic interventions to address co-occurring mental health issues alongside substance abuse.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all clients, documenting treatment progress, assessments, and interventions.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including counselors, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric and addiction medicine, attending relevant conferences and training opportunities to enhance clinical expertise.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in psychiatric care, ensuring client confidentiality and informed consent at all times.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Pennsylvania.
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Authorization to prescribe controlled substances and MAT medications.
- Strong knowledge of substance use disorders, addiction treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices.
- Experience in providing medication-assisted treatment, preferably for substance abuse clients.
- Proficiency in conducting psychiatric assessments and diagnosing mental health conditions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining a high standard of care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in addiction treatment centers, behavioral health facilities, or similar settings.
- Familiarity with relevant federal and state regulations pertaining to substance abuse treatment and MAT.
- Certification or specialized training in addiction medicine or substance abuse treatment.

The client is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, based in the Olney/Logan area, is dedicated to providing assistance to residents citywide, connecting people with needed resources and information, bridging the cultural and language gap, strengthening families, enriching lives, and sustaining communities. This position is based in our Olney facility and involves regular interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. The role requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate clients' needs and may involve occasional travel for professional development purposes.
