Assess and prepare patients before surgery, ensuring they are physically and emotionally prepared
Verify surgical consent forms, medical histories, and surgical site markings
Assist the surgical team by providing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment
Monitor patients during surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort
Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
Transfer patients to the recovery room or PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) and continue monitoring their condition
Administer postoperative medications and provide post-op education to patients and their families
Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including surgical counts and patient assessments
Document any complications or unusual events during surgery
Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the success of surgical procedures
Assist in troubleshooting technical issues with surgical equipment
Advocate for patients' needs and safety throughout the perioperative process
Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families

Requirements:

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of South Carolina
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
