Job Description:
As an Acute Care Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in administering specialized medical care to patients in a dynamic healthcare setting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering blood transfusions and infusions with precision and adherence to medical protocols.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs to ensure early detection of any changes in their condition.
- Diagnosing the causes of sudden changes in patient condition and providing urgent treatments as required.
- Executing treatment plans by administering medications and ensuring patients' comfort and safety.
- Assessing and, when necessary, performing diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (EKGs) and radiographs (X-rays).
- Delivering emergency medical care, including cardiac life support, when patients are in crisis.
- Updating and maintaining accurate health records to facilitate seamless patient care and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Collaborating with Physicians and other members of the care team to revise treatment plans based on patient responses and changing conditions.
Requirements:
- To excel in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Ability to float to ICU, and some flexibility to float to Medical/Surgical units when required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Acute Care setting.
- Active RN license in the State of Illinois, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
- Valid state certification as a registered nurse.
- Current certifications in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective collaboration within the healthcare team.
