Seeking a temp-to-perm pathologist to join a tight-knit team. Don't miss this rare opportunity to be part of an important and established Brooklyn, NY hospital!
Responsibilities:
- Pathologists examine and describe surgical specimen on a rotational basis according to
established standards for gross dictation of surgical specimens.
- When pathologists act as clinical consultants, they may examine the patient’s record before preparing a report in which findings are documented and recommendations for further work-up and therapy are proposed.
- A schedule for gross and frozen section responsibilities is prepared and distributed monthly to all laboratory departments and to Surgery, Nursing, Administration and Operators. Some specimen types are dictated by the pathologist assistant and the histology assistant according as
defined by departmental policy and standards of practice.
-The pathologists are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the gross description performed by others
- 3 other Pathologists within health system on the team
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday, 9AM - 5PM
- 8-hour shifts
Requirements:
- MD or DO
- Board Certification by the American Board of Clinical Pathology OR Board Certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology
