Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to evaluate urological conditions.
- Assist urologists in diagnosing and treating a wide range of urological disorders, including urinary tract infections, kidney stones, prostate disorders, and urinary incontinence.
- Perform procedures such as catheterizations, cystoscopies, and bladder scans under the supervision of urologists, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with urologists, incorporating medication management, lifestyle modifications, and surgical interventions as appropriate.
- Provide patient education and counseling on urological conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote optimal health and well-being.
- Monitor patient progress and response to treatment, making adjustments to care plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical notes accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in urology research, treatments, and guidelines through continuing education and professional development activities.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- State licensure as a Physician Assistant in New Jersey.
- Previous experience in urology or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of urological conditions, treatments, and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced clinical setting.
