Requirements to Become a School Nurse in Florida:
- Hold a current and unrestricted Florida State RN License.
- Possess a minimum of two years of experience as a registered nurse in a patient care setting (general or pediatrics preferred).
- Complete a School Nurse Certification program approved by the Florida State Education Department (NYSED). This program typically involves coursework on school health, child development, and legal aspects of school nursing.
- Pass the National School Nurse Certification Exam (NSNC Exam).
