Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Nursing oversees daily operations of the Nursing Department and serves as the acting Director of Nursing in their absence. This role also functions as a liaison with external agencies (e.g., Fire Department, Con Edison, State Health Department).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage clinical services and administrative operations of assigned units.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff.
  • Develop and maintain patient care protocols in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Lead quality improvement, infection control, and safety initiatives.
  • Support short- and long-term strategic planning and departmental goals.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments and external partners.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or administrative role.
  • 2+ years of experience in Infection Control or Quality Improvement preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, hospital protocols, and safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials policies and related compliance codes.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk, stand, sit for long periods, bend, stretch, and work in various environmental conditions.

Shifts : Days 5x8 8a-4p or 7a-3p Shift Possible weekends
