Job Description
- Customs Documentation Preparation: Assist in the preparation of customs declarations and other required documents.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter line items and shipment details into customs software and databases.
- File Compilation: Organize and compile all necessary documentation for customs clearance processes.
- Basic Compliance Checks: Perform basic checks to ensure documentation complies with customs regulations.
- Support for Senior Brokers: Provide administrative support to senior customs brokers, assisting with routine tasks.
- Customs Clearance Coordination: Coordinate the customs clearance process, ensuring timely and compliant entry of goods.
- HTS Code Classification: Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Intermediate Compliance Review: Conduct detailed compliance reviews of documentation to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Vendor and Client Communication: Communicate with vendors and clients to resolve documentation issues and provide updates
Qualifications
- Experience working in freight forwarding, shipping line, or brokerage firms, either locally or internationally
- Familiar with shipping documents (BOLs, AWBs, PKLs, invoices, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with experience in data entry and data validation tasks
- Comfortable with modern software, technology, and computer systems
- Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS), especially Cargowise or Magaya
- Graduate of Customs Administration or similar degree program
- Licensed customs broker
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas clearly and concisely in English, both in speaking and writing (C1)
- Client management experience is a plus
Remote Work Technical Requirements
