Role at a Glance

The Government Project Manager is operations-minded, highly organized, and a driven professional. In short, they will own and ensure completion of all facets of the end-to-end service and product delivery workflows and report on their status.

The perfect candidate will have unmatched attention to detail, strong communication skills and follow-through, and expert ability to prioritize their efforts toward the most critical tasks. They will possess an unrelenting desire to close gaps and drive clarity when projects are ambiguous or ill-defined.

What you will do

  • Take administrative ownership of inspections and their success; seeking out, communicating, and ensuring the completion of all requirements for each engagement.

  • Lead conversations with project stakeholders -- customers, prime and subcontractors, and internal Gecko teams -- to understand/clarify 1) work scopes, 2) customer success criteria, 3) site access and security requirements, and 4) other critical inputs for service delivery and product acceptance.

  • Represent Gecko operational needs and interests with external stakeholders and ensure they are understood and acted upon by customer and other critical stakeholders.

  • Work with sensitive information and safeguard PII, while owning the completion of customer site access and security requirements.

  • Challenge the status quo, and identify and implement improvements.

  • Drive people, processes, and technology toward efficiency, customer satisfaction, safety, and quality.

  • Manage the changing landscape of customer needs (changes to plan and schedule, delays, issues, etc. ) and ensure adherence to project timelines.

  • Report daily and weekly project status updates to key stakeholders.

About You

  • Experience

    • Leading cross functional projects/teams in a highly dynamic and agile environment

      • Experience collaborating with government stakeholders preferred

    • Experience working within government compliance frameworks including the handling of controlled documents

    • Project management skills including maintaining goal-orientation, managing prioritization and schedules, conducting problem solving, risk and root cause analysis, preparing for and driving meetings, and managing stakeholder communications

      • Formal project management methodology experience (e.g., Waterfall, Agile Methodology, etc) is preferred

    • Process development and improvement

  • Skills

    • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills

    • Must be able to work autonomously and possess internal framework to prioritize and triage the most critical tasks

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Experience interfacing with all levels of the DOD/Gov and prime/subcontractor ecosystems

    • Flexible; can adapt to changing schedules and priorities

    • Strategic planning, organization, and resource management

    • Familiarity and competence with various project/program management software tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, SmartSheet, Asana, Microsoft Office and Google Suite equivalents
