Financial Operations Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Operations professional to join Grip. In this role, you will be responsible for executing and overseeing the billing process for and with customers and coordinating with fulfillment teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. You will work closely with suppliers to ensure service level agreements are met. Additionally, you will manage and account for accounts payable correctly. You will also lead the onboarding of new customers and collaborate closely with our internal tech team to create software solutions that support billing operations. The successful candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team and be comfortable working with data and software tools to maintain accurate records and analyze performance metrics with high attention to detail. This role reports to the Financial Manager.
Specific responsibilities:
Bill Processing and Reconciliation:
- Receive and review invoices from partners and vendors for accuracy and completeness.
- Verify billed charges against agreed-upon rates and contracts.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or billing errors with vendors.
- Reconcile billing information with internal records and systems.
Understanding Operations and Charges:
- Gain a deep understanding of the company’s logistics operations and services.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate interpretation of service usage and charges.
Customer Invoicing:
- Develop and maintain Excel models to analyze operational data and calculate pricing for various services.
- Create and send invoices to customers.
Reporting and Transparency:
- Create comprehensive reports detailing the breakdown of charges for each customer.
- Provide clear and transparent explanations of charges and cost components.
- Present reports to customers in an easy-to-understand format, highlighting value and cost savings.
Data Integrity and Accuracy:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing and financial data.
- Regularly audit data to ensure its accuracy and consistency.
- Implement data quality checks and processes to minimize errors in billing and reporting.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously identify opportunities to streamline billing and pricing processes.
- Propose and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Account Reconciliation:
- Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records and resolve discrepancies.
Financial Analysis and Modeling:
- Conduct thorough financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting to identify financial performance and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor´s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, Accounting or a related field. Demonstrated experience in financial data analysis.
- Solid understanding of financial principles and concepts.
- English Proficiency, enabling effective communication and collaboration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in using financial software and tools.
