About Heimdal

Heimdal builds machines that permanently capture and store atmospheric CO2. Congress has passed legislation (IRA) guaranteeing a price of $180/tCO2 removed via Direct Air Capture until 2032. We are building technology that profitably captures CO2 with this tax credit, right here in the United States.

About the role

Heimdal is building a chemical plant that permanently captures and stores atmospheric CO2. Congress has passed legislation (IRA) guaranteeing a price of $180/tCO2 removed via Direct Air Capture until 2032. We are optimising technology that profitably captures CO2 with this tax credit for use in the United States.

We are working with established multinationals to supply them with the highest quality carbon credits available and are partnered with some of the largest CO2 pipeline facilities in the world to bring our solution to market at scale quicker.

We are currently looking to bring on a Lab Intern at our London location to assist with experiments and ongoing projects.

Requirements: • Good understanding of Inorganic Chemistry and Heterogeneous Catalysis • Excellent organisational skills • Experience designing and documenting research experiments. • Strong desire to work in carbon capture or climate science. • Located in London with ability to reliably commute to White City.

Internship Description:

• Conducting large number of experiments involving sorbent preparation and CO2 capture • Taking research goals and designing experiments which will produce unbiased data to be used by engineering dept. • Documenting each experiment procedure and findings for efficient knowledge sharing within the company. • Find, read and summarise research papers that may be useful to the company.

Technology

We use abundant minerals, in a looping process, and existing industrial equipment to capture CO2. Our process starts with carbonation of an abundant sorbent. Over a short period of time, through passive contacting with atmospheric air, the material is carbonated, whereafter the captured CO2 is stripped and captured by heating the material to high temperatures. CO2 off-gas is captured and stored geologically, permanently.
