Hi! We are Phil, Richard & Rob, founders of Kanda - we’re building financing for Europe’s 200M homeowners to pay monthly for their home improvements.
We were part of Y Combinator and recently raised our seed round from several US funds and incredible founders like James Park (Fitbit), Henry De Zoete (Look After My Bills), and Kenny Stone (PlanGrid).
ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire a Customer Service Specialist to join our team!
- £28,000-£30,000 p.a + 0.01% equity
- 2-4 weeks in person, fully remote with team meet ups for 1 week every 6-8 weeks.
Our Challenges
- The demand for our customer support has outpaced the time our founders can dedicate to each customer.
- We have a sophisticated network of systems and processes, currently guided by the founders' insights.
- Our customers need timely assistance, but we currently lack the team capacity to respond as swiftly as we’d like.
Our Opportunity
- Create an outstanding customer service function from the ground up.
- Play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s vision at our regular all-hands retreats, becoming a key advocate for our customers.
- Lead and develop a customer service team over the next 9-12 months.
Who We're Looking For
- A motivated and operationally-minded individual.
- Someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and ready to engage directly with customers.
- An independent thinker who isn’t afraid to voice their opinions and advocate for their ideas.
- Willing to handle frontline tasks such as answering calls, resolving issues, and following up on payments, understanding that everyone, including the founders, is hands-on in our startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Answer calls daily and promptly action customer requests.
- Chase down requests from various stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Set and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with the founders.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive FAQ section and continuously improve our chat bot.
- Manage our customer service platform, offering insights to build better internal tools and create future-proof infrastructure.
- Build and manage a customer service team in your image over the next 12 months.

We are 3 friends (and cousins in the case of Richard & Rob) on a mission to change how tradespeople and homeowners work together. Richard is an expert electrician, Rob is a literal rocket scientist and Phil likes to talk (nonstop!) about products.
Our team is full of amazing people from the UK. There are just 7 of us building this rocket ship and now we need you to help it go take off!
Location/Timezone
- We work on GMT time and currently aim for 9 am-6 pm UK time. Right now we are looking for someone in the UK and we meet up every 6-8 weeks to co-work together in person.
