About the role:

We're seeking a forward-thinking physician who is passionate about leveraging technology to improve access to mental health services and making an impact as a collaborating/supervising physician for Legion's nurse practitioners. Experience in psychiatry is a plus. Our focus is on the high-quality treatment of conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and insomnia/sleep disorders through secure telemedicine visits.

Psychiatrists, primary care physicians, family medicine physicians, internal medicine physicians, pediatricians, geriatricians, OB/GYNs, pain medicine specialists, neurologists, addiction medicine specialists, sleep medicine specialists, anesthesiologists, emergency medicine physicians, etc. are especially encouraged to apply.

Job Type: Part-time, Contract

Salary: $500 / month / nurse practitioner supervised

Our NPs undergo a rigorous vetting process (fewer than 5% are selected) and have trained at some of the best MSN programs in the country, including Vanderbilt University, Gonzaga University, the University of Texas at Austin, and UTHealth Houston.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with highly experienced, highly trained, and friendly PMHNPs who treat low-risk psychiatry patients using evidence-based treatments.
  • Approve and send prescriptions through our EMR & eRX system.
  • Meet state mandates for physician-NP collaboration, including NP consultation availability.
  • Earn extra for additional collaborative agreements with new NPs.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted license as a physician (MD/DO) in Texas.
  • Active, unrestricted DEA license in Texas.
  • Board Certification as a physician (MD/DO).
  • Some clinical experience in psychiatry. Psychiatrists, primary care physicians, family medicine physicians, internal medicine physicians, pediatricians, geriatricians, OB/GYNs, pain medicine specialists, neurologists, etc. are especially encouraged to apply.
  • Comfortable supervising nurse practitioners, conducting chart reviews, and answering questions at monthly meetings
  • Comfortable using technology and electronic health record systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
