About the Strategy Planning Team:
The Misfits Market Strategy & Planning team is a combination of two areas, both Produce and Non Produce, that range in responsibilities from analytics, strategic planning and process implementation that will cross multiple functional areas including Category Management, Inventory Planning, Pricing and Operations.
About the Role:
In this position, the candidate will be responsible for a key account and procurement for this account that is serviced out of a number of Misfits Facilities. Key tasks include and are not limited to: managing key account by publishing weekly catalog and forecasting demand, securing availability and pricing from wholesalers throughout the week, short-buy (at-once) purchasing of produce for to service key account in a timely matter, inputting and sending purchase orders, working with transportation, our facilities and/or the vendor to track and schedule inbound freight. The scope of the role is broad, ranging from placing and adjusting orders, to tracking and adjusting inventory, working with transpo to troubleshoot late arrivals, and monitoring communications with key account contacts. This person will be capable of quickly deciding on contingency plans when last minute availability issues occur and will work closely with the current procurement team, as well as the facility and transpo teams, to ensure we deliver on the best customer service experience.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is curious and enjoys solving complex problems, and who never stops looking for a better way to do things; when they find themselves in uncharted territory, they are excited, rather than intimidated. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, able to work with a broad range of teams to identify and solve problems efficiently and is known for attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Review current sales and analyze future demand by item within each facility
- Work with category managers, wholesalers, and growers to understand current availability and costing
- Create purchase orders for the at-once weekly purchases, as well as work with the facilities, vendors and in house transportation to deliver needed inventory on time
- Clearly communicate with Ops, Receiving, and Key Account of any changes made to shipments that will impact inventory
- Build and implement an internal scorecard to track order fulfillment to key account
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in ecommerce retail space within merchandising, purchasing and/or planning
- Must be proficient with Excel and Google sheets
- Experience in produce a plus
- Experience with programs including Oracle, Mode, or similar platforms working with large data sets preferred
- Experience with Netsuite or similar platform a plus
