About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician has a critical role within our fulfillment center. This individual ensures that our day-to-day operations maintain production by mitigating the amount of downtime experienced because of equipment failures. The Maintenance Technician will be part of the operations team, under general supervision of the Facility Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly cleans, inspects, and lubricates equipment.
  • Replaces or repairs defective parts on conveyors, tape machines, stock carts, etc.
  • Completes general plumbing, electrical, and painting as needed.
  • Operate electrical equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
  • Conducts maintenance and repairs on refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on all equipment located within the facility which includes production vehicles (Reach trucks, Cherry pickers, seated forklifts, etc.)
  • Complete facility inspections and reports as required.
  • Coordinates scheduled and unscheduled maintenance orders with external contractors.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leads the sanitation and housekeeping efforts for the facility.
  • Follows facility safety practices and shop housekeeping practices.
  • Promotes occupational safety standards; gives others feedback on their safety performance.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance calls.
  • Completes routine administrative functions such as filling out PM work orders, recording inspection results, logging emergency work orders, recording parts used from inventory stores.
  • Maintains regular inventory of spare parts, and components, and executes reorders when inventory reaches the low limits.
  • Familiar with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 2 years of mechanical or automotive maintenance experience working on equipment.
  • Must not have an aversion to heights.
  • Required to lift and carry equipment that weighs up to 60 pounds.

Preferred Qualification

  • An associate degree or 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair
  • Skilled in forklift and aerial lift operation.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Operates well in a team setting.
  • Passionate about leading, coaching, and training people on technical requirements.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and decision-making abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment (41 degrees and below)
  • Regular work with computers, including G Suite and Excel.
  • Regular use of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets
  • Ability to walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, and kneel.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds.
