Brief summary of role:
The Channel Account Manager will be responsible for playing a key role in helping the Obie Channel Partner team reach its revenue and growth goals through strategic account management and optimization of Obie’s partnerships.
What you'll do:
As an Account Manager on the Obie partnerships team, you will be responsible for ongoing relationship management of a portfolio of key accounts (30-50) focused on driving revenue growth for Obie and value for partners
Establish and maintain productive, professional, and influential relationships with key executives within your assigned partner portfolio leading to a deep understanding of partner business organizations
Build and maintain relationships with key cross-functional business partners within Obie, including but not limited to members of the marketing, data analytics, product and engineering teams, in order to implement strategy to achieve company goals.
Develop a deep understanding of Obie’s B2B solutions & ability to incorporate it into an organization’s larger portfolio of sales offerings with Obie as the priority
Strategize with existing partners to develop out of the box ideas to activate marketing initiatives and maximize sales

Willingness and ability to host and lead compelling end user demonstrations and overviews of Obie’s offerings to partners, end users, and educators
Build internal and external business cases to secure resources to meet growth objectives
What you'll bring:
2+ years of experience in account management, B2B sales, marketing, partnerships roles, or similar
Keen ability to manage relationships both externally and internally across multiple stakeholders at varying levels within an organization
Strategic/critical thinker - ability to leverage tech, tools, and resources. Demonstrates the ability to tackle a project or problem without all the context
Data driven - you love utilizing data to create insights and inform strategy
Excellent communication skills and the ability to in time explain complex insurance concepts in a clear and concise manner
Passion for early-stage startups and/or high growth environments
Able to deal well with ambiguity and maintain composure in complex situations
Bonus Points:
- Chicago based or the ability to come into the Chicago office as needed.

1. Meet us and learn about Obie
You'll first talk to a member of the People Ops team on a 20-30 minute call; you won't need to prepare anything in advance. The goal of this conversation is to get to know you and mutually explore if we might be a good fit for each other. You'll learn more about Obie and have a chance to ask any questions about our company, team, culture, and product.
2. Meet the hiring manager
You'll get to have a 30-45 minute video interview with the hiring manager, Lauren McKinzie. This discussion will be more technical in nature to ensure you have the skills needed to be successful in the role.
3. Meet the Team
Since you'll be joining a close-knit team, we'll ask you to meet other people in the company so we get to know each other a bit better.
4. Role Play
This role requires strong planning, collaboration, and communication skills, so we'll also present you with a short role play exercise to provide you a chance to flex those muscles. We'll be looking to see your problem solving abilities, communication skills, empathy, and general demeanor. More on this when you get there!
