PayMongo is, at its heart, an engineering company. We run multiple software systems and platforms that power thousands of businesses. Our platform processes payments, detects fraud, processes merchants settlements, among many capabilities that help businesses scale online. Maintaining and observing the reliability and performance of these systems are the primary tasks of an infrastructure engineer.
You will be part of a team that maintains platform infrastructure used by the organization such as servers, network, storage and message queues. You will work in close collaboration with the InfoSec team in creating a secure network best practice and implement the network security requirements and controls. You will also ensure the operational availability, stability, optimization and security of PayMongo's products and services.

You will:

  • Be responsible for the design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure including servers, storage, networks and security to support PayMongo’s applications and services.
  • Ensure operational availability and stability of PayMongo’s products and service
  • Implement and help contribute to managing security controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Automate deployment and management of cloud-based infrastructure and platforms, using tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Terraform.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud-based systems.
  • Update and improve existing service, alerts and process run books and documentation by spotting redundancy and/or missing process flows
  • Conduct knowledge transfer (KT) across the team to impart best practices and approaches in identifying and resolving issues
  • Work closely with other teams within the organization, such as Product, Engineering, QA and IT Operations to ensure that cloud-based infrastructure and platforms are meeting the needs while closely responsible for communicating with relevant stakeholders and the management team on the status of existing projects.
  • Continuously contribute to cost savings projects while improving the infrastructure.
  • Be responsible for and maintain good understanding of DevOps and Agile Scrum methodologies to ensure continuous integration and deployment, and collaborating with the development teams to automate their processes.
  • Mentor, train and share knowledge with junior team members to contribute to the organization’s success.
  • Configure accesses for AWS and other systems using Principle of Least Privilege.
  • Create and maintain accurate network diagrams and ensure that they are up-to-date.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plan for each system.
  • Support and configure firewalls, switches, and routers
  • Participate in Security Incident Management in containment, mitigation, and recovery processes

You may be a fit if:

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience as an Infrastructure/Platform Engineer.
  • You are experienced with AWS network services such as VPC, VPN, API Gateway, Route53, DNS, etc.
  • You are experienced with AWS computing services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, etc.
  • You are experienced with AWS storage services such as S3, RDS, etc.
  • You are experienced with AWS monitoring & logging services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail & Elasticsearch
  • You are experienced with AWS network security services such as WAF, Firewall Manager, Shield, Inspector, etc.
  • You are experienced with AWS Key Management Service and Certificate Manager
  • You are experienced with automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormationExperience in creating event-driven architecture utilizing tools like Metabase, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail.

  • You are experienced with various scripting tools and languages to help automate routine tasks, configure and manage cloud-based infrastructure and deploy and manage cloud-based applications. Scripting applications may include Bash, Phyton, PowerShell, Javascript etc.
  • You have extensive knowledge and ability to perform API integrations within the organization’s systems using internal or external APIs to enable data exchange for application integration.
  • Team player who can also delegate and lead the development of existing team members
