Overview

Polymath Robotics is creating software that can safely control all of the world's industrial vehicles, and we’re looking for a Sr. Robotics Engineer to join our team. We’re a small, close-knit group of roughly 10 people, each of us experts in our fields, working to bring autonomous vehicles to various industries quickly. We believe this moment in robotics and autonomy is as groundbreaking as the PC industry of the 80s, and we need your help.

Responsibilities

  • Be a leader on the team, with significant industry experience, to mentor others in best practices.
  • Develop versatile software for a range of industrial autonomous vehicles, including tractors, mining vehicles, forestry equipment, and port machinery.
  • Contribute to our work in ROS2, filling in the gaps and enhancing our architectural framework.
  • Engage in various areas of robotics including perception, controls, behavior, path planning, obstacle detection, tracking, and avoidance.
  • Mentor team members in best software practices, focusing on a good balance between speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Communicate with prospective clients to align expectations and ensure our features cover their use cases.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to optimize our infrastructure to meet immediate needs and plan for long-term utilization.
  • Maintain high ownership of your work, witnessing firsthand the impact of your code on customer vehicles performing real tasks.

Qualifications

Expertise in one or more of the following: C++, Python, ROS/ROS2, machine vision, modern software development, and systems architecture. 6+ years previous experience working on autonomous robots A passion for high ownership of work and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to contribute anywhere on the stack as needed. In a given week, you can jump from sensor drivers, to controls tuning, to organizing with the team to efficiently split work and find common features.
