What You’ll Be Doing 👨‍💻👩‍💻 🛰 🛰

You will be responsible for developing and integrating a software framework with various models and algorithms using Python and C++ or Rust. You will work closely between software and aerospace engineers to implement a robust framework capable of supporting complex algorithms that must execute in production environments. You do not need to be an expert in satellites, but experience working with physics-based concepts is highly valuable!

You will work in a small agile software development team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as satellite operators and other software engineers to understand requirements, implement new features, and troubleshoot issues. Your strong knowledge of optimization methods, modeling and simulation, and software best practices will allow you to build solutions capable of scaling to hundreds and thousands of satellites!

Tech Skills:

• Proficiency in Python as well as C++ or Rust

• Experience developing software to model complex mathematical or physics-related concepts

• Applied experience developing and validating algorithms for optimization, sensor fusion, or similar concepts

• Strong knowledge of software performance optimization and best practices

• Experience developing containerized applications and hosting in Kubernetes and/or cloud-native architectures

• Preferred experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, and RDS

• Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar framework for version control

Soft Skills:

• Deep technical analysis and troubleshooting skills

• Independent self-starter; able to complete projects on time with minimal guidance

• A high standard for software maintainability, quality, resilience, and performance

• Strong cross-functional communication between a frontend, backend engineers and product manager

Background Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field

• 3+ years [professional] experience in backend development, Modeling & Simulation, or other related role. Professional experience can be replaced with a self-starter who has drive, the technical skills, and is obsessed with their product.

First Round - Screening Call (30m) The Hiring Manager will walk through your experience, the role, and make sure we are in alignment with the expectations (75% Behavioral, 25% Technical).

Second Round (60 min) Interview with the Head of Engineering (25% Behavioral, 75% Technical).

Third Round (2 hours) Coding Challenge

Fourth Round (60 min) Interview with the Head of Product and Head of InfoSec (25% Behavioral, 75% Technical).

Reference Check The Hiring Manager will ask for 2 references within the last 5 years. These can be former managers or colleagues.

Offer The hiring manager will reach out with a verbal offer and a formal offer within 24 hours of notification.

Reverse Reference Check We will coordinate a time for you to meet 1:1 with a recent new hire to ask questions about working at Quindar.
