Job Summary

RE/DONE is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all financial and accounting operations. This role is critical to ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the company as we grow across wholesale, e-commerce, and retail channels. The ideal candidate will bring at least 7 years of experience in the apparel industry, a deep understanding of cost accounting, and a passion for sustainability and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Management

• Oversee all accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Streamline accounting processes across wholesale, e-commerce, and retail operations.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.

Cost Accounting

• Lead cost accounting efforts, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Partner with operations and production teams to analyze COGS and optimize supply chain efficiency.
• Monitor manufacturing costs and provide insights for margin improvement.

Budget Oversight

• Deliver budgets to each department manager and review results monthly.
• Work closely with department heads to monitor spending and stay within budget.
• Provide guidance and actionable recommendations to department managers for maintaining financial discipline.

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Deliver actionable financial insights to guide decision-making and drive profitability.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic initiatives.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and filings.
• Manage external audits and coordinate with tax advisors.
• Maintain risk management practices and update policies as needed.

Leadership and Collaboration

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and operations, to support RE/DONE’s goals.
• Act as a strategic partner to the CFO and executive team, providing financial insights and recommendations.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience in the apparel or fashion industry.
• Expertise in wholesale, e-commerce, and retail accounting operations.
• Strong background in cost accounting and inventory management.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• MBA , CPA or CMA designation preferred.

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive and solution-driven approach.
