REGENT is building the seaglider; the first electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers. With a vehicle that never flies higher than a few meters off the water, we unlock the ability to fly twice as far as an electric aircraft, and certification by maritime authorities which will let us fly first passengers by mid-decade.
We are backed by the world’s best investors: the same investors who are behind SpaceX, Anduril, and Boom Supersonic, in addition to strategic investors like Lockheed Martin, Japan Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines. We have over $9B in orders from some of the industry’s largest operators and are hard at work getting our full-scale, human-carrying prototype on the water next year.
This results-oriented leader will oversee all aspects of accounting, ensuring GAAP compliance, strong internal controls, and transparent, insightful financial and management reporting. Drawing on your experience from both public accounting and industry experience, you'll be instrumental in leading the audit process, driving increased internal controls, and implementing best practices to mitigate risk and build financial transparency. This position will initially report directly to the Head of Finance.
We are open to fully on-site or hybrid arrangements at our Rhode Island HQ or Washington DC office. We will also consider a phased relocation for candidates who are not local to either area.
If you’re as motivated as we are to revolutionize coastal transportation and help REGENT bring a new and fully electric form of transportation to the world, then join our amazing team!

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management and Reporting: Manage and supervise all day-to-day operations of the accounting department. Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to GAAP.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., hardware, manufacturing, supply chain) to understand and manage financial implications.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and drive the monthly accounting close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all financial information.
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, reserves, inter-company transactions, and foreign currency conversions as required.
  • AP Management: Take over the ownership of REGENT’s AP system, including invoice and payment processing, vendor communication, audit support, and reporting. As REGENT grows, build out the AP team from the ground up.
  • Internal Controls and Audit: Oversee the internal control systems to prevent and detect fraud. Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit. Lead and drive the external audit process, ensuring smooth execution and timely completion.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A passion for what we’re building here – including passions for maritime, aviation, sustainability, or travel/transportation
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 7+ years of combined experience: Public Accounting firm, with exposure to audit methodologies and best practices, and industry experience (ideally with a hardware and inventory management focus; e.g., automotive, aerospace, technology)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and industry-specific accounting regulations
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, MS Dynamics) and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in unstructured, fast-paced environments

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • CPA certification
  • Proven experience with ERP implementation and optimization
  • Experience managing financials of a vehicle production company/OEM (e.g. aircraft, boat, or automotive manufacturer)
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
  • Ability to analyze a high volume of transactions and data; SQL experience
