About The Role
Are you ready to lead a talented team in one of the most exciting and fast-paced environments at Rippling? As the Senior Manager for the Unity Platform Team in India, you’ll play a pivotal role in taking our platform to the next level. Your mission: enhance, scale, and build brand-new capabilities into the Unity platform.
This isn’t just a leadership role—it’s a builder’s role. You’ll help shape the future of our platform, transforming ideas into enterprise-class solutions which work at an internet scale that support Rippling’s growth and innovation. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Infrastructure teams, and global counterparts to ensure the Unity platform is the backbone of high-performing, reliable, and user-centric services.

What You'll Do
- Drive Platform Innovation: Lead the charge to enhance the Unity platform. You’ll scale it to handle massive traffic while improving reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Build What’s Next: From 0 to 1 and beyond—design and deliver new platform capabilities that solve today’s challenges and prepare us for the future.
- Collaborate and Connect: Partner with Product Managers, Infrastructure teams, and engineering leads across Rippling to align on goals and deliverables. You’ll ensure the platform is easy to adopt, valuable to use, and a pleasure to work with.
- Deliver at High Speed, Without Compromise: Strike the perfect balance between speed and quality. You’ll lead your team to deliver features with precision and operational excellence.
- Focus on Operational Excellence: Build a culture of reliability, accountability, and continuous improvement. You’ll set high standards for uptime, monitoring, and incident management.
- Mentor and Grow Your Team: Build a high-performing, motivated team. You’ll provide mentorship, guidance, and support to help your team members thrive and deliver their best work.
- Collaborate Globally: Work seamlessly with global counterparts, especially in the US, to align on priorities and drive a shared vision.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of deep technical expertise, with a focus on distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
- At least 4+ years of leadership experience, with a track record of managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Proven Leadership: You’ve led engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable platforms. You know how to build high-performing teams and keep them motivated.
- Operational Focus: You’re a pro at designing for uptime, managing SLAs/SLOs, and building robust monitoring and incident response systems.
- Collaborative Mindset: You’re skilled at partnering with product and infrastructure teams, bridging technical and business needs.
- Global Experience: You’re comfortable working across regions and time zones, fostering a collaborative global team culture.
- Exceptional Communication: You can simplify complex technical ideas for stakeholders and keep everyone aligned on goals.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Experience building platforms for large-scale, enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong track record of delivering features quickly while maintaining high quality and reliability.
- Ability to take a platform from concept (0 to 1) and scale it to meet the demands of global enterprises.

Rippling highly values in-office collaboration. Employees living within 30 miles of an office are expected to work onsite three days a week with those living 30-49.9 miles away expected to be in the office one day a week. Employees living over 50 miles away are required to relocate within 30 miles of an office. To enhance team cohesiveness, new employees are asked to work onsite three days a week for their first six months.
