About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

Rippling's mission is to free smart people from the administrative burden of running their business. At the core of Rippling's vision is automation: enabling companies to orchestrate complex workflows across every part of their organization.

We’re looking for a Product Lead to lead the next evolution of Workflow Studio, Rippling’s workflow automation product, into a next-generation agentic automation platform that spans all of Rippling’s product lines.

You’ll define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for how customers design, deploy, and scale intelligent workflows and agents across Rippling — powering everything from onboarding and IT provisioning to payroll operations, compliance, and financial automation.

This is a highly visible role with significant product ownership, deep technical collaboration, and the opportunity to shape a foundational pillar of Rippling’s platform.

What you will do

  • You will own Workflow Studio – Rippling's cross-product automation engine that customers use to build multi-step workflows spanning Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits, IT, Finance, and third-party apps
  • You will own the reliability and quality of the platform customers have already built their operations on, while simultaneously pushing it into the next generation of AI-powered and agentic automation
  • You will define how triggers, conditional logic, approvals, and escalations work across Rippling's product surface area – building primitives that serve every product team
  • You will work directly with engineering to navigate event-driven architectures and pipeline infrastructure while shaping how LLMs transform workflow automation
  • You will work cross-functionally across product, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to drive adoption and ensure workflows are properly launched, sold, and supported

Qualifications

  • Has owned a public-facing platform or infrastructure product that customers built on and depended on – PaaS, automation, integration, or workflow orchestration
  • Has been responsible for revenue from a platform or infrastructure product – understands how platform capabilities translate to pricing, packaging, and growth
  • Demonstrated technical depth from owning infrastructure – can navigate event-driven architectures and pipeline systems, and has an informed point of view on how AI changes workflow automation
  • Strong opinions about where workflow automation is going, shared freely
  • Strong alignment with Rippling's leadership principles, particularly 'Push the limits of possible', 'Are right, a lot', 'Challenge each other directly', and 'Change their minds'
  • Nice to have: experience with workflow or automation platforms (Zapier, n8n, Temporal, Airflow, or internal equivalents), navigating a V1-to-V2 platform migration, or shipping AI-powered features in production
