Runwise is looking for a Data Engineer to join one of the largest and fastest-growing energy tech companies in the US. Runwise has offices in New York and Boston but is a remote-first product/engineering company, and has been since its creation.

Runwise (www.runwise.com) is a fast-paced, customer-focused climate-tech startup that controls and runs the key energy systems (heating, water, etc…) in 7500+ buildings throughout the US. In this role, you’ll collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and business-side department heads to build reliable, scalable data pipelines, transform raw data into core business metrics, and work with custom visualization tools that surface insights. The team is small, so the role requires a high degree of autonomy, strong technical judgment, and the ability to span across the data stack, from pipeline development to business metrics and tools.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Being a core contributor to our core data pipeline and infrastructure. Combine AWS services such as Kinesis, Athena, AppFlow and custom code in our Go platform to ingest and transform out data.
  • Writing Go code and SQL that efficiently and intelligently processes billions of data points per year

Who you are:

  • You have 5+ years of hands on experience as a data engineer
  • You have 1+ years of hands on experience writing in Golang
  • You are passionate about building new products
  • You have extensive experience with AWS services like Dynamodb, Kinesis, Athena
  • You have some experience with AWS Lambda
  • Experience building data architecture
  • You are passionate about working with systems at scale

Salary: $130,000-$150,000 (varied on experience and market rate)

What you believe:

  • No job is too small.
  • Sincerity builds trust.
  • Setbacks fuel progress.
  • Efficiency is vital.

Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • HSA & FSA options
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Access to Talkspace & Health Advocate
  • Flexible PTO
  • Commuter Benefits
  • 401K
  • Company paid life insurance
  • Voluntary supplemental life insurance
  • Free in-office lunch on Wednesdays
  • Hybrid work environment
  • Summer Fridays
  • Monthly L&D Series
  • Employee Resource Groups (e.g. DEIB Committee, Run Club)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing company and create a career path beyond this initial role. You will be surrounded by talented people where you will learn about real estate and software/managed services sales at a very fast growing tech company, whilst having a tangible impact on reducing carbon emissions across the country.
