About the role
As the Director of Accounting and Finance, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our financial management. You will be responsible for leading a team of accounting and finance professionals and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) you will collaborate closely with senior management to provide financial insights and support business objectives. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking and strong leadership skills.
What You’ll do:
Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and contribute to the development of the company's overall financial strategy.
Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Oversee the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
Manage cash flow, treasury functions and banking relationships to optimise liquidity and support operational requirements.
Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems, processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives, investment decisions and business development opportunities.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports and financial presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.
Stay abreast of industry trends, accounting standards, regulatory changes and ensure compliance in financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
Manage relationships with financial institutions, external advisors and stakeholders including investors, lenders and regulatory agencies.
Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Liaise with tax authorities, external auditors and consultants regarding tax audits, inquiries and compliance matters.
Analyse financial data and transactions to identify tax-saving opportunities and optimise the company's tax position.
Provide guidance and support to internal teams on tax-related matters, including implications of business decisions, transactions and investments.
Must Haves:
Master's degree in Finance and ACCA/CA qualification is highly desirable.
Proven experience (4-6 years) in a senior finance or accounting leadership role, preferably as a Director of Accounting and Finance or similar.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis and reporting standards.
Strong understanding of financial controls, risk management and regulatory compliance.
Experience working with FBR and relevant tax authorities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Quick books
Strong leadership and people management abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Proactive, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong ethical standards and integrity in financial management.
