Financial Accounting Manager

About Solugen

Solugen’s mission is to decarbonize chemical manufacturing. As an initial step, Solugen is building its first commercial plant with a capacity of 10,000 tpy, with the potential to offset up to 37,000 tpy of carbon dioxide equivalents.

The Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial statements and reports. This role ensures compliance with GAAP, manages the month-end close process, and supports internal and external reporting requirements. The position partners closely with senior leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and maintain strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
  • Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, statement of equity)
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory review
  • Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, depreciation, and capital projects
  • Oversee account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis and insights
  • Collaborate with multiple departments within the Company
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Supervise accounting staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 5–8+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience (preference in chemicals, manufacturing, or industrial sectors)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience managing audits and financial reporting cycles
