The Role
Taekus is looking for a Head of Risk and Underwriting to join the Taekus team. As Taekus grows and builds out its products, you’ll help us establish financial control guidelines, tools, administrative standards, and best practices with regards to risk and underwriting. You’ll be staying up to date on competitors and the most recent methods that help support sound risk management. You'll be leading the financial underwriting and risk management side of Taekus’s business.
Your Responsibilities
You would be managing application decisioning, transaction decisioning, portfolio monitoring, & issuing and lending partnerships
Use your experience and knowledge to create and implement our risk assessment and credit underwriting process.
Build out and execute Taekus’s risk management policies across Taekus’s card products - from underwriting, payments, transactions, credit limit changes, collections
Use data analytics and industry knowledge to keep Taekus one step ahead of fraud.
Determine whether we should give potential customers financing by building credit risk models
Work with our engineering team to automate risk assessment and underwriting processes build best in class risk tooling that can also improve the efficiency of our operations
Leverage data and analytics to utilize aggregate customer portfolio for risk and pricing considerations relative to internal targets and benchmarks
Stay on top of emerging underwriting and fraud trends and use that knowledge to improve Taekus’s decisioning systems and policies
Integrate relevant off-the-shelf products when applicable and strategic
What you bring to the table
5+ years of experience leading credit underwriting and / or risk functions at top-tier fintech companies and/or financial institutions
Experience in credit risk modeling and developing credit policy
Experience selecting and integrating new fraud mitigation vendors
The versatility to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment
A passion for delivering great experiences to customers and the strong ability to create data-driven approaches
Nice to Haves
Love of credit cards and/or travel hacking
Experience within consumer/ corporate/ small business cards, payments, invoices, lending, or related industries
Experience in high growth startups
Experience building complex financial products
Knowledge of SQL or Python
