The Software Test engineer will be responsible for implementing test procedures on software at Turion. You will engage with flight software developers and operators to support qualifying our software for flight. This role involves collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure that flight software meets performance, reliability, and mission-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and specifications. Define test objectives, scope, and criteria.
- Perform manual and automated testing of software applications, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing. Execute test cases and document test results.
- Identify, document, and prioritize software defects and issues. Work closely with the development team to reproduce, diagnose, and resolve defects.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks. Enhance automation processes to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports. Ensure all testing activities are documented and traceable.
- Work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that software meets quality standards and requirements. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements.
- Develop a deep understanding of the avionics architecture and how the spacecraft operates as an integrated system.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline or equivalent experience in the field.
- 2+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with experience in both manual and automated testing.
- Proficiency with embedded software testing tools and frameworks (e.g., GTest, CppUnit, etc.). Proficiency in C or C++.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware issues effectively.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on both manual and automated testing. Experience in aerospace or embedded hardware-related industries is a plus.
- Expertise in advanced testing techniques, including performance testing, security testing, and load testing.
- Proven ability to contribute to process improvements and implement innovative testing solutions.
- Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) with embedded software.
